Suttons has a vast chemical haulage fleet of over 300 general purpose tanks with specifications including: single compartment, multi-compartment, baffle tanks, lagged tanks and specialist tanks. Its skilled team of fleet engineers work collaboratively with customers to identify and build tanks to the required specification.

Chemical transport requires meticulous attention to detail and our drivers are trained to the highest levels to ensure that our customers’ products are handled with professionalism and confidence.

With located depots spanning across the UK, Suttons are strategically placed where its chemicals customers need them most.

The vast majority of our chemical road tanker fleet can carry up to 28 tonne of product, however, there are occasions when a customer does not require a full tank of product to be moved. All chemical products have different specifications which can be examined on the Material Safety Data Sheet, but sometimes if only a small amount of product is required to be moved, Suttons may use a multi compartment tank and fill the other compartments with water to ensure consistent distribution throughout the tank.

Maximising payloads is a great way to improve efficiencies and ensure best value for money, so we do encourage our customers to load as much product as is safe to do so.

The pricing for chemical freight services varies depending on the requirements from the customer. There are many different elements that impact the pricing including: loading and delivery destinations, nature of the product, customer delivery profile and when we can unload the product, whether the product requires steam heating, the type of tank that is required to fulfil the job safely, and the frequency of the job.

Our Commercial team are always on hand to help price up work for customers, whether that be contract work with dedicated fleet or spot business.

Suttons Tankers can transport chemical products by road to anywhere across the UK. With its main depots in Widnes, Stockton, Scunthorpe, Hull, Ellesmere Port and Willenhall, Suttons have a strong presence in the areas in which chemical manufacturers are based.
