Suttons International’s Antwerp office is our largest office in Europe. With a staff of over 30 colleagues made up of commercial, sales and operation teams, the Antwerp office serves as our European central hub to bring regional customers the high levels of reliability, service, value, and safety that we are known for.

When defining the Core Values that guide our company culture, Safety First was agreed to be our most important and prominent value. This value outlines our commitment to the wellbeing of our employees, the environment we operate in, and our customers and the wider chemical logistics industry. We believe safety to be so crucial to our culture that it even features on our company strapline: “Delivering Life’s Essentials Safely”.

Part of what makes tank container logistics so unique is the multimodal nature. Being able to move a tank between different modes of transport easily and quickly means that our tanks can complete journeys more efficiently. A large part of the journeys our tanks make is long distance over land and sea.

We sit down with Andy Deighton, our Business Unit Director for the UK & Ireland to discuss current market trends, potential impacts for our customers and other businesses, and what to look out for in 2023/24.

With over 25 team members, our UK Operations team based in our Widnes head office ensures that our tank container deliveries for our European Short-Sea, as well as International Deep-Sea customers arrive safely and on time.

Our UK International team are constantly hard at work bringing customers the fantastic value, service, and reliability that Suttons International is known for. The team recently received some fantastic praise from a customer following the success of a complex and large campaign.

The team play a variety of roles to commercially support the UK International business, including generating new business, relationship management with existing customers through weekly visits, supporting the operations and finance teams with quotes and job amendments, and much more.
