This UN Global Road Safety Week we are highlighting how we uphold the highest levels of safety when moving our ISO tanks on the road, and as part of the larger intermodal supply chain. Intermodal transportation involves the movement of freight using multiple modes of transportation, such as on chassis trailer by road, railway, and ships.

Recent turbulent events have had a large impact on the supply chain. Covid, extreme climate events, and Brexit, among many others, have resulted in distinct issues which Suttons International, and other logistics companies, have had to adapt to overcome.

The China subsidiary of Suttons International, the UK’s largest chemical logistics company specialising in moving chemicals, faced a severe challenge when Shanghai went through a two-month lockdown. For the China subsidiary both their international business, dependent on supply chains from overseas, and their domestic business had a sudden and potentially catastrophic shock.
