Josh Raby – Business Development Executive

Josh joined Suttons in 2016, and has moved across various sales roles in Suttons International in the four years since he joined. Prior to his time at Suttons he studied at the University of Leeds and spent 12 months traveling through Asia and Australia, before coming home and buying a property in his home town of Warrington with his partner Claire.

Based in our Widnes HQ, Josh’s initial role at Suttons was in the fast-paced area of Sales Support. The main aim of this role was to provide customers with quotes and to support the operations team with any details they needed adding to the system. Thanks to the skills he developed in his background with previous customer service and sales roles, Josh quickly began to build relationships with our customers and help push the business forward.


He was quickly promoted into the Business Development department, which meant taking a step away from the admin side of sales support and focusing more on building relationships with our existing customer base and potential new ones to drive new business and offer the best service possible.


Recently, Josh has been promoted to Business Development Executive where he will be taking on more responsibility and working on projects with other teams in Suttons. Most recently Josh took a key role in the implementation of the first load procedure.


Over the course of his time at Suttons, Josh has learnt numerous skills that has enabled him to advance in his career, including many of technical skills that comes along with bulk logistics.


He also worked in the Antwerp office for a month to cover for a colleague who was unwell, which gave him the opportunity to develop his skills further and to visit some of the customers he speaks to regularly based in Belgium and Germany.

Josh has learnt the basics on inside sales and is now relishing the challenge that external sales and account management brings. He has an excellent rapport with customers and I am sure Josh will continue to develop and progress with Suttons International.”


Josh is excited to start his new role and to continue to grow and develop his skills at Suttons, while learning from his experienced colleagues around him so he can help Suttons reach the targets set for the business.
