Suttons Backs Tanker Driver In New York Marathon Charity Run

A road tanker driver from Widnes based logistics company Suttons, is getting ready to run next month’s New York marathon.

Andrew Dance, who’s 40 and from St Helens is hoping to raise as much money as possible for national charity ‘Get Kids Going’, which gives disabled children and young people the opportunity of participating in sport. The charity aims to give support to all young paralympians in the build up to the London 2012 Paralympic games and beyond.

Andrew is a former Royal Marine Commando and well used to the demands of running such a long distance. This year, he has already competed in the London marathon and several half marathons.

The big race takes place on November 6th and Andrew says:

“Training is going very well and I’m really looking forward to it. Every time I’ve done a marathon my time has got better and I’m hoping to do this in around three and a half hours. It will also be amazing running on the streets of New York past all the famous landmarks.”

Suttons Group Managing Director Andrew Palmer is fully supporting Andrew’s challenge and says:

“We’re delighted to support Andrew and wish him well. He’s already proved he can go the distance and we hope people will back him and support the cause.”
