SUTTONS ANTWERP OFFICE DONATE IT EQUIPMENT TO LOCAL SCHOOL

At Suttons International we know how important education and training is to our staff, therefore we recently announced our new Learning Management System (LMS). But we also recognised our obligation to support local causes during these difficult times.

It has become the new normal for many children around the globe to be taught by modern methods such as computers, allowing them to continue their studies during the pandemic. Therefore, we are delighted to announce that our office in Antwerp has donated a large amount of computer hardware to a school local in the area, the Royal Atheneum of Merksem.

We have been able to do this due to our recent IT investment of £2m which has supplied our staff with cutting edge technology. This investment allows us to work from home, the office (safely) or on the road, ensuring we can offer our customers a fully rounded logistic service no matter the location. This is a permanent change to our working culture in Antwerp, allowing staff to utilise a flexi-based environment.

Due to this investment and change to our working ethos, we had a large amount of hardware no longer in use, but still in perfect working order. After some research, it was decided we would donate the equipment to the Royal Atheneum of Merksem. The donation was made by Mieke Verbeke, our Administrative and Payroll Support Assistant to Eddy Marchand, Director of the school.

Kim Hanique, Regional Director for Europe at Suttons International has said, “Everyone at Suttons has been working exceptionally hard during the pandemic, and I am delighted that we have still found the time to think about the community around us. Working together, even on a local scale, will ensure we come out of this pandemic stronger.”

We all recognise, that in different ways, we can help those around us. This is a shining example of our Antwerp team proposing ways to support the local area, and how they have worked hard to make sure this was possible and done so in a safe manner. Well done to all involved.”
