Suttons Md Gives Masterclass To North West Business Leaders

North West business leaders are to hear from the group managing director of global logistics company Suttons about some of the experiences and challenges that come when maximising opportunities for international expansion.

Andrew Palmer’s session, as part of the HSBC’s Local 2 Global event, is followed by Lord Digby Jones of Birmingham, who will be speaking about the wider dynamics of UK international trade.

Suttons, which is a specialist in moving bulk liquids and chemicals around the world, has operations across Europe, Asia and North America. This includes a base in Shanghai that employs 50 people and last year Suttons opened its Singapore operation. A Group Regional Director for Asia and the Middle East has just been appointed to further build on the success already achieved in these areas.

Andrew Palmer said:

“There are huge opportunities in the international marketplace which we have been successful in maximising. However there are challenges to overcome and it is absolutely crucial to get the right people on the ground, who understand local circumstances.

“I’m delighted to have been asked to share my experiences at the Local 2 Global event and hope delegates can use them to benefit their own businesses.”

The event takes place on Tuesday 7th September from 07.45 to 10.00 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Manchester Airport.

Suttons is based in Cheshire, UK and operates globally with key business centres in Antwerp, Essen, Houston, Kuantan, Le Havre, New Jersey, Shanghai, Singapore and Tokyo.
