CUSTOMER FEEDBACK FROM BOC ON UK & IRELAND CUSTOMS ACTIVITY
The implications of Brexit are now in full swing and there is no doubt that this has had an impact on some of our contracts at Suttons. Paul Morrill, one of our Transport Planners, has experience of navigating the impact of Brexit on our Rain Carbon contract, and as a result, offered his expertise to support with the customs activity between the UK & Ireland on the BOC pentanes liquids contract.

Meet the Suttons Tankers Commercial team; Roger, Nigel, Billy, Cameron and Jessica. With a variety of different roles, the team look after new business, relationship management with existing customers, marketing and much, much more. The department experienced a significantly successful year in 2020 with a number of new business wins, as well as contract renewals and customer commendations.

MEET THE TEAM - WITH WORKSHOP SUPERVISOR ANDY TURNER
Andy Turner is a Workshop Supervisor based in our Widnes HQ Depot Workshop. He has been with Suttons for over 15 years and is responsible for the safe and efficient running of our Widnes workshop. We are proud of our internal workshops and Widnes offers high quality maintenance for our fleet. These include inspections and servicing as well as MOT and ADR preparations, ensuring confidence in a first-time pass rate. Intermediate and periodic vessel testing is also carried out in our workshop by our experienced team of technicians.

SUTTONS RESPONDS QUICKLY TO CLOSED BORDERS TO CONTINUE SUPPLY CHAIN FOR BRITISH STEEL & RAIN CARBON
Last month we experienced what was a described by many journalists as a ‘logistics nightmare’ when a growing list of countries closed their borders to Britain due to fears of a new, highly contagious, strain of coronavirus. This caused travel chaos, fears of food shortages and panic surrounding other implications on supply chains.

JOSH RABY - BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE
Josh joined Suttons in 2016, and has moved across various sales roles in Suttons International in the four years since he joined. Prior to his time at Suttons he studied at the University of Leeds and spent 12 months traveling through Asia and Australia, before coming home and buying a property in his home town of Warrington with his partner Claire.

SUTTONS TANKERS WINS NEW BUSINESS CONTRACT WITH BOC FOR GAS CYLINDER TRUNKING
Suttons Tankers has won a significant five year contract with BOC, providing inter-branch trunking services for the movements of full and empty gas cylinders across the UK. Suttons are investing in the procurement of 30 new trucks as part of their commitment to provide BOC with the best possible equipment for the contract.

GRADUATE JOURNEY WITH JOE STEAD
Joe joined Suttons in 2018 as part of our graduate scheme and jumped straight into the fast-paced Operations department. Initially working as a Transport Planner for the South of the UK, he became acquainted with our drivers and the legislation around chemical logistics. Following this, he moved into customer facing imports and exports for the European Short Sea business, where he gained a broad understanding of the demands of the industry as well as being able to further his customer service experience.
