Suttons Receive Praise From Yorkshire Water

We are no strangers to unpredictable weather conditions in the UK, but the recent torrential rain and flurry of snow we have experienced over the past week has posed challenges to some of our contracts.

Our Yorkshire Water contract, based in Leeds, has recently been deluged with snow and rain, which caused significant impact on the operation.

The team at Yorkshire Water have recognised the tremendous effort and performance achieved since the start of the contract, especially during difficult circumstances.

Richard Glossop, Operations Manager at Yorkshire Water, commented:

“If I was to give a score for the guys running the day to day it would be a solid 10/10 without a shadow of a doubt.

Things have been difficult all over and they have risen to the challenge.

They have got through this patch, they can get through anything.”

All of our drivers on the contract have been assessed in all aspects of driving and procedures, and during safety briefings, training and one to one conversations were given the capacity to make decisions if an element of their work is unsafe. This encouraged our drivers to report any unsafe conditions through the near miss process.

They were also presented with the Winter Ready Procedures which helped drivers understand how to deal with aspects of poor weather conditions.

During the poor weather, Suttons increased communication with the customer in order to determine which sites were safe to load and deliver from, ensuring a continuation of service on sites that were safe to be used.

We are really proud of our colleagues who work on the Yorkshire Water contract and continue to go above and beyond to service the customer to the highest standards.
