Logistics solutions for bulk liquids, powders and gases

Suttons UK Road Tanker Division operates in 4 key sectors, chemicals, gases, foodstuffs and mineral oils. The company’s growth and success in these sectors has resulted from proven competence in operating in this hazardous and safety critical environment.

Suttons operates nationally using the largest shared user tanker fleet in the UK. This fleet includes general purpose road barrels, multi-compartment solvent barrels, rubber lined barrels, rigid petrol tankers, liquid and powder food tanks and urban articulated trailers.

Safety is our primary objective and Suttons is committed to ensuring that all customer shipments are carried out in accordance with the highest standards of health and safety and operational integrity. Suttons has a team of full-time driver trainers based at our St.Helens training centre. Here, every driver undergoes a rigorous induction programme and regular training updates. The Suttons Emergency Response System provides cover 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Operating from regional centres, highly trained incident controllers can respond swiftly to any emergency and coordinate events at the incident scene.

Suttons is accredited to ISO 9001:2000 and SQAS for its Road Tanker and Widnes Tank Wash operations. However, these accreditations are seen as a minimum standard and are supplemented by regular internal audits and external audits by WQA. All Tanker operations are planned and managed through advanced management systems including GPS technology for tracking vehicle movements and monitoring sensitive, temperature controlled products.
