SUTTONS
The origins of the Suttons Group date back to 1923 when Alf
Sutton joined the small family business of A.B. Sutton & Sons
and quickly became the driving force behind the company.
Throughout the 1930’s and 1940’s the road transport
business was developed in the UK, with a short break during
the post-war period when UK road transport was nationalised.
Following de-nationalisation in 1954, Alf Sutton renewed the
growth of the group and expanded into the specialist transport
of bulk liquids and gas, developing innovative solutions to
meet customer’s needs.
During the 1960’s, the International Division was developed
to provide specialist tanks containers for the growing transport
requirements of the European and Worldwide chemical industries.
Suttons has continued to grow and develop with a global network
of offices, including China opened in 1997, and an extensive
range of specialist equipment. Suttons success has been built
on sustaining the business principles that have distinguished
the Company since its early days;
- Integrity in all areas of business
- Safety as a primary objective
- Flexible, high quality and innovative solutions
- Competitive services
- Accessibility of key people to support the customer
