Supply Chain Consultancy Case Study Jun 28 2007
Suttons are currently working on a supply chain review with a global chemical producer looking at the distribution of over 2 million tonnes of product throughout the UK using various modes of transport. The project consists of several modules each focusing on a different element of the supply chain; the key areas considered include shortening the supply chain, increasing payload size, reducing inventory and reducing handling and storage.
Interviews with key staff and a substantial amount of data analysis have been carried out in order to establish current practices and business requirements, solutions have then been produced and business cases put forward, upon approval the solutions are then implemented. The projects have been well managed and delivered on time providing efficient solutions improving customer service and achieving a substantial six figure saving.
